Cricket was a part of Olympics .Don't believe me check out this link.
Cricket was part of 1900 Paris Olympics ,So if ICC is successful in persuading IOC to add cricket (T20) to the list of events it would be a come back for cricket in Olympics.
Also the list of cricketers for cricket in Olympics seems to be growing fast after Gilly stared it.
Ponting wants cricket in Olympics
Younis, Malik back Cricket's inclusion in Olympics

While every body accepts that opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics 2008 was a visual spectacle .In an attempt for flawless perfection China got a good looking girl to lip sync a song for official singer who according them was Not Pretty enough .
Nine-year-old Lin Miaoke becomes instant star with patriotic song. But the real voice behind the tiny, pigtailed girl in the red dress who wowed 91,000 spectators at the National Stadium on opening night really belonged to 7-year-old Yang Peiyi. Her looks apparently failed the cuteness test with officials organizing the ceremony.
This incident shows how obsessed China was with perfection and beauty at the Beijing Olympics
And you thought talent is what that matters.

The world's largest thrash dump is not a dump yard of any metropolitan. it resides thousands of Miles away from the land - in the Pacific.
As per the wikipedia :
The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, also described as the Eastern Garbage Patch is an area of marine debris in the central North Pacific Ocean located roughly in an area between 135° to 155°W and 35° to 42°N. The patch is characterised by exceptionally high concentrations of suspended plastic and other debris that have been trapped by the currents of the North Pacific Gyre.
The dump is largely composed of non-biodegradable plastic. The plastic which breaks down into small pieces is finding its way into wild life. The size of the dump has almost been doubled in the past 5 years.
